Whiskerwoods Hunt is operated by ORR Media LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company. We take your privacy seriously and have designed this game to collect as little personal information as possible while still delivering a great experience.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. It applies to all players of Whiskerwoods Hunt accessed via wwhunt.com.
This service is currently available in select US markets only. It is not directed at residents of California.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@wwhunt.com.
We collect only what is necessary to operate the game.
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
Google Maps API: Whiskerwoods Hunt uses the Google Maps JavaScript API to display the hunt map. When the map page loads, your browser contacts Google's servers to retrieve map tiles and API code. As part of that technical request, Google receives your IP address and standard browser headers. This happens automatically as part of how the internet works and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. ORR Media LLC does not control how Google handles that data.
Your device location: When you reach the hunt map, your browser will ask for permission to access your device's location. If you grant permission, your current position is displayed on the map as a blue dot to help you navigate. Your GPS coordinates are used only within your browser for this purpose. They are never transmitted to or stored by ORR Media LLC.
You may deny location permission and still play the game — you simply will not see your position on the map.
Your name and score will only appear on the public leaderboard if you explicitly opt in after completing your hunt. This choice is recorded in your session. You may choose not to appear on the leaderboard at any time during or after your hunt by not opting in.
Leaderboard data, including opted-in player names and scores, may be visible to the chamber of commerce or tourism board operating the Game in your area as part of partner reporting. See Section 6 for more detail.
Whiskerwoods Hunt is made available through local chambers of commerce, tourism boards, and similar organizations. These partners pay for the platform in order to measure and promote foot traffic in their areas.
We provide these partners with aggregated analytics reports showing: total hunts started and completed, completion rates and average times, which mouse locations received the most visits, busiest days and times, social media post counts and estimated reach, and leaderboard highlights including opted-in player names and scores.
Partners are contractually prohibited from:
Analytics access provided to partners terminates when their contract with ORR Media LLC ends.
If you choose to submit a social media post for bonus points, we collect the post content or link you provide. This is entirely voluntary. Submitted posts may be displayed in partner analytics dashboards as examples of user-generated content. We do not access your social media account directly and do not collect your follower count or account data unless you provide it voluntarily as part of the submission.
We use a single session cookie to maintain your hunt progress. This cookie:
We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
Whiskerwoods Hunt is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
If a player is under 13, a parent or guardian must complete registration, enter a name on the child's behalf, accept the Terms of Service, and supervise gameplay at all times.
If you believe a child under 13 has registered without parental involvement, please contact us at hello@wwhunt.com and we will promptly remove the associated session data.
We retain hunt session data, including player names, activity logs, and scores, for up to 12 months from the date of your hunt. After 12 months, data is either anonymized or deleted.
Consent log records — including session ID, IP address, ToS version, and acceptance timestamp — are retained for a longer period as legal records of Terms of Service acceptance. These records are kept separate from gameplay data.
You may request deletion of your gameplay data at any time by contacting us at hello@wwhunt.com. Please include your player name and approximate date of play so we can locate your session. Note that we cannot delete consent log records, as these serve as legal records of agreement.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. Our platform is hosted on secured servers and player data is stored in a protected database.
However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information and are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the version date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will increment the ToS version number so that returning players are asked to review and re-accept updated terms before playing again.
Continued use of the Game after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
